The Roda AEROJET is a versatile louver blade design that serves both as a natural smoke and heat extraction system (SHEV) and as an efficient ventilation unit. It combines the advantages of smoke and heat extraction with natural air exchange and daylight illumination in buildings.

Using the thermal buoyancy generated by pressure and temperature differences inside the building, Roda AEROJET provides effective natural ventilation or reliable smoke extraction in the event of a fire. For everyday use, an integrated rain sensor system ensures reliable and windy weather-independent ventilation. In the event of a fire, the Roda AEROJET thermal relief device (TRD) is automatically switched on, either by centralized manual evacuation or triggered by the fire alarm system.

Whether in industrial plants or office buildings, materials that emit toxic gases in case of fire are increasingly being used today.

Roda AEROJET louvre ventilation has an automatic thermal trigger mechanism that reliably opens the device in case of fire when the specified trigger temperature is reached independently of other functions. Furthermore, Roda AEROJET can be controlled via a smoke detector pulse or fire alarm panel.

Natural ventilation without energy loss

During the summer months, production interruptions often occur in many industrial production halls due to extreme heat and poor air quality. The Roda AEROJET louvered ventilator provides cost-effective and noiseless ventilation that does not require additional energy expenditure. The ventilation effect becomes increasingly effective as the internal heat load increases. Roda AEROJET automatically adjusts to the natural temperature difference and requires no additional control to regulate ventilation.

Natural daylight illumination

Thanks to the transparent blades of the Roda AEROJET louver ventilation, natural daylight can enter the building even when the louvers are closed. This not only reduces lighting costs, but also increases employee comfort and motivation.

Roda AEROJET as a fresh air intake louver

Roda AEROJET offers versatile options for roof installation and can also be easily integrated into various wall structures to provide the required fresh air intake. Since adequate ventilation cannot be guaranteed without fresh air, the use of supply air systems is essential. Both in regular ventilation and in fire scenarios, providing fresh air intake to the lower areas of the building is the most effective approach. During a fire, Roda AEROJET facilitates the removal of hazardous smoke gases through the incoming supply air, while supporting the formation of a low smoke layer near the floor. In addition, the supply air helps to cool materials located close to the fire source.

Designs

The Roda AEROJET consists of a fixed frame construction made of extruded aluminum profiles with EN AW-6060 (AlMgSi0.5) alloy and is equipped with a series of rotating, aerodynamically designed wings that vary depending on the size. For the wing filling you can choose between aluminum sandwich and PC 16 or 25. The opening and closing of the wings is performed by an internal pneumatic cylinder or servo motor. The pivoting points of the wings are made of aluminum and mounted on UV-resistant sliding bushings. EPDM gaskets with two sealing levels are used to minimize the outflow of hot air.

Size

The devices can be manufactured in a wide range of length dimensions, from 1080 mm (L) x 600 mm (W) to a fixed width of 4080 mm (L) x 2000 mm (W) with 4 to 16 slats. The width of the device consists of a frame width of 40 mm and a width of 133 mm of each slat. The length is determined by the height of each slat (250 x number of slats + 80 mm).
