SafetyHatch is a specially designed pressure relief hatch engineered to safely release excessive pressure generated during an explosion or sudden pressure increase (deflagration).

The system operates through a specially designed locking plate that is engineered to break when a predetermined pressure level is reached. Once the plate ruptures, the hatch covers open, allowing the excessive internal pressure to be safely discharged.

The SafetyHatch system has been developed based on the PHOENIX natural smoke and heat exhaust ventilator and has been specifically adapted for overpressure relief applications.

Advantages

  • Thanks to its replaceable locking plate, the system can be economically restored and reused after activation.
  • It can be manufactured in custom dimensions and configured to open at specified pressure release values according to project requirements.
  • The retention mechanism prevents damage to both the hatch covers and the roof structure following an explosion event.
  • The opening leaves are insulated with 20 mm mineral wool, while the curb and gutter sections feature 30 mm insulation. Thicker insulation options are available upon request.
  • In the closed position, the system provides sound insulation of up to 28 dB, depending on its dimensions.
  • Available in both single-leaf and double-leaf configurations.
  • Due to its visual similarity to the PHOENIX smoke and heat exhaust system, both systems can be installed on the same roof without noticeable differences in appearance.
  • Features a robust construction with minimal maintenance requirements.
